Olivia Wilde & Jason Sudeikis' Former Nanny is Suing After Claims of Facing 'Extreme Anxiety'

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis‘ tumultuous relationship has just hit yet another bump in the road. On Tuesday, former nanny Ericka Genaro filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Sudeikis and Wilde, who allegedly fired her after she requested medical leave for her mental health.

In the complaint, which was filed on Tuesday and obtained by PEOPLE, Genaro alleges she experienced “unbearable” and “extreme” anxiety and stress she faced while caring for the former couple’s kids, Otis, 8 and Daisy, 6, after the couple split in Nov. 2020. Genaro said she felt like she had to “pick sides” between the actors during conversations Sudeikis supposedly ask her to have “at night after the kids were put to bed.”

“The pressure of [Genaro] not only being the primary caretaker of the children, but also filling in Wilde’s absence for the children, became debilitating,” the complaint said.

Court documents say Genaro, Wilde, and Sudeikis agreed to take group therapy sessions when the pressure and stressors of the situation did not subside. Genaro claims she then went to see an osteopath for her “physical pain, anxiety and stress.” The doctor supposedly said she should take three days of “stress leave.”

“When she told Sudeikis she is under orders to not speak with anyone because of her anxiety, Sudeikis terminated her on the spot,” the complaint says.

A representative for Sudeikis said he stands by the joint statement the former couple shared with PEOPLE after a former anonymous nanny shared alleged details with The Daily Mail in October 2022 about the couple’s breakup (and yes, there were some juicy alledged tidbits about Wilde’s relationship with Harry Styles). It is unclear if that anonymous nanny is Genaro.

“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly,” Wilde and Sudeikis said at the time. “Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”
