There has never better reason for you to get those credit card points up: Serena Williams has launched her very own closet on Poshmark (alongside pieces from her daughter, Olympia) with proceeds benefitting Black Dog Institute’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre – a foundation built to inform, enable and deliver better services, care and programs to improve social and emotional wellbeing, and ultimately save lives.

The selection includes a heap of Serena’s designer pieces, including pieces by Dolce and Gabbana, Marc Jacobs,
Miu Miu (she is a size 41 in shoes and M/L in clothes) and more, as well as a bunch of adorable tutus and girls clothing ranging from 6-18 months, once belonging to her daughter Olympia.

“Even before joining Poshmark’s Board of Directors, I had been a regular user on the marketplace. I’ve seen the way the community rallies behind Poshmark’s values, giving anyone the opportunity to become an entrepreneur. I’m excited to see this extended to Australia and help the community grow and thrive,” explains Serena.

“I’m getting in the mix with the Aussie Poshmark community by launching my very own Poshmark closet in Australia where I will be donating all proceeds to a cause I feel strongly about – mental health. One of the items I’m listing in my Australian Posh Closet for Charity are the Silver PE NikeCourt Flare 2 sneakers designed by Virgil Abloh as part of the “Queen” Collection that I wore in the 2018 US Open.”

As you can imagine, the pieces are selling like hotcakes so get in fast.

In the meantime, we spoke to Serena about all things fashion to get you in the mood for shopping.

WH: What is your last designer purchase?

Serena: My Fendi Peekaboo Tote. I love how spacious and functional this bag is. I love handbags and I always seem to be carrying a lot with me.

What’s your most prized fashion possession?

One of my favourite pieces is one of the collaborations with Nike. In honor of my 23rd major title, Nike and Jordan created a limited-edition sneaker, which was a hybrid of my signature tennis shoe and favourite off-court sneaker. I even have a pair sitting in my trophy room at home.

How has becoming a mother changed your approach to tennis, business, your relationship?

Moms are truly incredible. They act as a light of positivity and optimism, showing up each and every day to support their family to ensure they have everything they need. While I may be biased, being a mom is one of the most challenging leadership roles one can hold — I’m constantly inspired by other moms and seeing how they do it all. When it comes to balancing motherhood and being a working mom, the advice I give is to just keep going. There will be times when you don’t think you can do it, but if one thing is true, it’s that moms persevere like none other. We’re strong, we’re brave, we’re legendary.

Becoming a mother changed everything, it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.
