Covid symptoms: How to reveal your risk of Covid by simply touching your skin

UK Covid-19 death toll increases by 1,610

Covid cases have continued to rise across the UK, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing a third national lockdown earlier this month. One of the easiest ways to reveal your risk of coronavirus is to check whether you have a fever.

Covid has killed more than 80,000 people in the UK, after the emergence of a third wave.

The arrival of Covid vaccines has given the public a light at the end of the tunnel,

But the Government and scientists are still urging the public to remain vigilant, and to stay at home.

You could be at risk of coronavirus, and should consider getting tested for Covid, if you develop a high fever.

One of the easiest ways to check your temperature is to feel your chest or back.

You may feel hot to the touch on your chest, said the NHS.

That means you don’t necessarily need to buy an expensive thermometer to check your temperature.

A high fever is one of the three key warning signs of Covid.

“If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus [Covid-19], get a test as soon as possible. Stay at home until you get the result,” said the NHS.

“The main symptoms of coronavirus are a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, [and] a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

“Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms.

“A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back [you do not need to measure your temperature].”

If you develop any of the coronavirus symptoms, you should get a Covid test as soon as possible.

You should also self-isolate at home until you get the results of your test.

If the test comes back as negative, you can return to normal, lockdown life.

But if it comes back positive, you should self-isolate at home for a further 10 days.

The Prime Minister ordered a third national lockdown at the start of January.

He explained that the tier system was working to contain the virus before December.

But after the introduction of a more transmissible, new variant, more restrictions were needed to curb the spread of the virus.

The UK currently has the highest death rate from Covid in the world.
