The Oxford coronavirus vaccine is the latest hopeful candidate in the race to inoculate the globe against COVID-19. Results from phase two trials show that the vaccine triggers a strong immune response. Crucially, the effect is observed in older and younger people alike. Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine this morning, Dr Hilary shared the side effects reported by study volunteers. According to Dr Hilary, two percent of participants reported headache and three percent reported fatigue. This is encouraging – it shows the vaccine is stimulating an immune response, he said.
